Frontwalker seek to be a pioneer in both name and deed, their guiding principle is that responsible development will permeate everything that it does to ensure the best long term interest for their clients and community. Frontwalker have staff located across Sweden and therefore it is essential that they all have access to the company Document Management System no matter what device they are using to access it.

Frontwalker’s Mats Åström told us: Mutual NDA agreements are often a part of our consultancy assignments, especially when the assignment requires that we take part of our customer business data and documentation.

The Problem
These documents, as well as documents produced within the project need be shared among project members. To make sure that all project documents are at all times available to authorized project members we needed some kind of cloud solution and we would have had quite a few of them to choose from … had it not been for the NDA we just signed.

Even though Cloud Service Providers ensure encrypted network traffic/data storage, the actual server storing the information might very well reside in a country whose legislation we know little or nothing about.

The Solution
We therefore developed a cloud solution for our consultancy firm using LiveCode & LiveCode Server which runs on our own server. On the client side there is a MacOS X desktop app, a Windows desktop app and an iPad app. The apps upload and sync documents using SSL and iRev-scripted web services to access the server document repository and database. Hence, all customer and project documents are in a secure place and available to all concerned.

LiveCode was our natural choice, we were able to develop client side apps for MacOS, Windows and iOS as well as server side web services using the same code base.

We would not have considered developing our system had it not been for the multi-platform capabilities in LiveCode, it would simply have been too costly.
