Planning for our upcoming online 3 day conference event is continuing apace! We’re excited today to announce a day long course that will train you in building a Web App using LiveCode. This will build on the concepts introduced in our current Web Camp course, showing you how to use them in practice when building an actual app with our team.
New Conference Sessions Announced: Stripe API + Charts, Wordl, Data Syncing and more
by Heather Laine on January 14, 2022 No commentsOur schedule for the online 3 day conference in April is really filling out! Today we have 6 new sessions to announce for you, with something for everyone.
Speaker: Mark Smith – App Developer
Mark has over 25 years experience developing applications for industry and academia, managing large government data warehouses, and designing grant and contract funded health research. He recently completed an app which was successfully submitted to the App Store and would like to thank everyone in the Livecode community that helped make that possible. He will be presenting two great sessions.
Topic: Syncing user data across multiple devices
Mark will demo this in real-time using two hand-held devices and provide an overview of a very simple approach. Then he will briefly walk through the program logic and answer any questions. We will cover OAuth2 as part of this presentation. The solutions uses a freely available Dropbox account as the data exchange platform.

by Heather Laine on December 21, 2021 No commentsJust in time for the Holiday Season! This release is stuffed to bursting with improvements that you, our customers, have asked for. We ran a survey recently to find out which issues mattered the most and we’ve done our very best to fix as many of them as possible in this release. So while it’s just a maintenance release, we think you’ll find it a treasure trove of goodness.
iOS goodies
In addition to fixing issues we now support iOS 15 and the corresponding Xcode 13 in this release. This will enhance your experience on Monterey and allow you to use the very latest iOS features in your apps. You can also now allow for the Notch and other device furniture using our new “safe areas” function.

by Heather Laine on July 2, 2020 7 commentsThere are upsides and downsides to having an extended LiveCode family.
On the positive side, the outpouring of support from our customers, old and new, during this campaign (Covid-19 LiveCode Impact Fund) has been cheering, encouraging, and heartwarming. On the negative side, I know so many of you personally, you’ve been with us for so many years, and I’m anxious for your welfare and that of your businesses. Covid-19 has hit everyone, everywhere, no-one is unaffected. I hear about businesses on a knife-edge, and my good friends either catching the virus themselves or having near and dear ones hospitalised. All I can say is – hang in there! We’ll get through this together.
It seems like the vast majority of you are riding out the storm, one way or another. Tech companies are resilient, and our customer base is made up of some amazing characters with determination and a vision for the future.
