Today we are pleased to announce two LiveCode releases. LiveCode Create dp-8 and LiveCode Classic 10.0.3 rc-1 both bring support for Android API 35, plus a number of fixes, enhancements and new features.
LiveCode Classic Maintenance Release
10.0.3 rc-1 brings updated support for Android. In addition building against API 35, we are delighted to tell you that the requirement for Java 8, and specific older Android Build Tools has been removed. You now only require a minimum version of Java 11, and you can use the latest versions of Java and Build Tools. This is a significant improvement to the setup process required for building LiveCode apps for Android.
The full list of improvements since 10.0.2 is:
- Android update to platform 35 and other updates to ensure compliance with Google Play Store requirements from August 31st.
- The barcode scanner widget on Android is now visible when accelerated rendering is on
- Windows Server will now print text when using the pdf printer
- The browser widget on Mac and iOS will no longer crash when “do in browser” evaluates an expression with type errors
- Printing large amounts of text using the PDF printer on Windows will no longer cause a crash or generate truncated PDFs
- Accessing the “kind” property of a newly created widget in
newWidget
will no longer cause a crash - Intermittent crashes when using the mobile player control on iOS will no longer occur
- Printing Arabic (and other right to left scripts) using the PDF printer on macOS will no longer result in missing text
- The
mobilePickPhoto
album and library options will now attempt to preserve all EXIF data (e.g. location) when picking a JPEG image

Create dp-8
Create continues to make good progress. This release contains a number of enhancements around theming and color management, as well as support for Android API 35 if you are using LiveCode Create Native in Classic mode. We’ve made some improvements to the Speech library. We’ve also been working hard on stability and bug fixing. The complete list of changes includes:
