LiveCode Global: Our Next Conference in Your City

Everyone loves the LiveCode Conference – we know for many of you it’s the highlight of your year, and it certainly is ours! That’s why we weighed up carefully holding an on the ground event this summer as usual. However the reality is that at the moment the pressure is on to deliver features and finish projects. After a couple of recent Yak shaves*, our engineers have been chained to their desks. And will be remaining there for some time! We had to decide against hosting an in-person conference this year.

But we know how important our conference is – for both our team and the wider community. We love hanging out with all of you and the sharing of ideas, success and best practice is so important for everyone. So we spent some time thinking how we could still have a fabulous event this year. The result: LiveCode Global.

6 Months of Conference

We’re taking the very best of the live event, adding some elements that just couldn’t happen at a physical conference, and turning it into an online event. The same packed schedule, great speakers, enlightening content and all the socializing is coming to a live stream near you. Plus with instant replay and from the comfort of your own home. And instead of running it over one week, we’re going to run it for a day a month over the next six months! Put those days aside in your calendar now, and look forward to sitting back, relaxing and joining us and the LiveCode community live for a packed agenda each month.

Flexible and Fresh

Holding the event over six months gives us the flexibility to do some innovative things we’ve never done before. For a start, it means that as features get delivered, syntax added and best practice established, our engineers who are at the heart of it can run a session on “what they built and how you use it” right when it’s ready. They can walk you through the features, tell you about best practices, what not to do, solve problems and take your questions. That means the content is going to stay fresh, topical and super relevant throughout the whole event. And don’t worry if you can’t make all the sessions live, everything is going to be recorded and available on replay.

Join our Monthly Company Meeting

This format lets us do something else we couldn’t do before: The LiveCode Monthly Team meeting. In the first session I’ll broadcast a keynote with highlights and a summary of where we’re at. After that every month I’ll broadcast a version of our company wide team meeting, where we talk about what we all got done in the last month, the successes, the challenges, and what everyone is working on now. You’ll also hear direct from some of our team members about how their projects are going. You can join us, become a fly on the wall and experience what we’re experiencing here at LiveCode HQ. This is a first – we’ve never done this before and I’m really looking forward to it. I’ll run a Q&A at the end of this event each month so you can ask us anything! Well almost anything…

Call for Speakers

This is your event. We’ll be hosting some great content from you, speakers in the community. If you’re interested in speaking, please fill out the speaker form and apply. Don’t be shy! We have both short 7-minute Flash talks and longer sessions available. We’ll be publishing more details on the schedule over the next few weeks. If you have a topic you’d particularly like to see covered, please let us know. We are also going to be bringing the community together with hangouts and other live events that let you all come together and share.

One on One with Our Team

And finally we’ll have 1 to 1 sessions, running on each of the conference days. These are an extra $99 when purchased together with your conference ticket and for that you’ll get a video screen share with the right person on our team, and a full recording of your 30 minute session. Our team can solve a lot of problems in 30 minutes and these sessions always get great reviews. Places are limited and are first come, first served, so go book yours now.
