Ready out of the box
We’ve pre-configured everything for you. You don’t need to install any server packages or adjust file permissions. You don’t even need an ftp client (if you don’t want one).
Don’t settle for off-the-shelf server scripts
Create outstanding web applications yourself with a programming environment you can quickly understand. Use English, the language you already know, to describe server application logic. Process text and data using natural language: words, lines and items. Deploy powerful web solutions without the huge learning curve of other web environments.
How it works
The LiveCode server engine works just like PHP: place tags in your web page in line with your HTML. The LiveCode server executes the tags and outputs the results.
For example, to put the time into a web page you would do this:
<? lc put "Hello World!" && the date && the time ?>
You can interleave tags with HTML as you would expect.
Check out our code examples here.

Also check out this excellent third party code framework, RevIgniter from Ralf Bitter. Makes coding .lc pages a snip!
One Language
Our goal is to bring you a single, simple, straightforward language which can be used to develop applications on Mobile, Windows, Mac OS X, Linux, Unix the Server and the Web.
Instead of having to learn incompatible syntax and semantics as you change between these environments, you can write LiveCode code. LiveCode’s very-high-level language makes it easier to get the job done than many lower level languages such as php, Java, C++, PERL, etc. A LiveCode-built solution is easier to write, is
more readable and typically requires substantially less code, than these languages.
LiveCode is already a well established cross platform solution for iOS & Android, Windows, Mac OS X and Linux.
With LiveCode Hosting you can write cloud apps and web programs executed in the server environment, using the same language as for your desktop or mobile apps.
